Dreamspace

These abstract images of water, ice, mist and snow take me to that place between waking and sleep where my thoughts flow unimpeded, where memories surface and evolve into something new. Like the endless transmutations of water that I’ve photographed, the real and imagined mix freely in this dreamspace I inhabit a little each day, reliving, reimagining, and reinventing, alone in my head.

Dynamic Form

All of nature’s materials bear the imprint of the forces that formed them. Formations of vastly different scale produced by wholly different means show surprising similarities - the designs seem universal while the materials and time-scales matter little. I’m continually delighted by the patterns, shapes and textures created by the laws of physics and needs of biology, and secretly pleased that we only partly understand how it all happens. The handmade silver gelatin prints in this portfolio celebrate the many dynamic forms found in nature.
